The Process Tech is responsible for maintaining high quality standards and troubleshooting molding problems as needed.
Essential Job Functions
Ensure injection molding machines are processing at optimum efficiency with a minimum of downtime.
Implement and maintain process improvements to achieve the highest level of quality and productivity.
Independently start up, troubleshoot machine, implement process controls and identify any mold issues.
Perform minor repairs including electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic problems to maximize productivity and reduce downtime.
Develop and document process sheets for all jobs.
Maintain production schedule to ensure customer requirements are met in a timely manner.
Work with appropriate personnel to maintain technical process and color changes.
Maintain accurate inventory controls and review raw material needs on a daily basis to ensure production schedule is completed as required.
At times, cover off-shift needs for processing
Abide by all F&M safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to:
Lockout/Tagout
Accident reporting
Forklift Safety, etc.
Requirements
High school diploma or combined equivalent of education and experience
Minimum 5 years’ experience as an Injection Molding Process Technician
Mold setting experience a plus
Basic computer skills
Strong problem solving skills
Ability to read and understand blue prints and schematics
Ability to complete statistical process control graphs and charts
Ability to communicate, read and write English
Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
Able to identify colors and match to sample specification
Able to work overtime as needed to cover off shifts
Work efficiently and maintain a composed demeanor in a fast-paced environment
Master Molder certification a plus
