Cost Accountant

Full Time

 

Responsible for the ongoing analysis of process constraints, target costing projects, margin analysis, and tracing costs back to underlying activities. 

 

Position Responsibilities

 

  • Create and review the controls needed for data accumulation and reporting systems to drive the cost accounting process

  • Coordinate physical inventory counts and cycle counts

  • Investigate cycle counting variances and resolve issues

  • Update standard costs in the bill of materials

  • Review standard and actual costs for inaccuracies

  • Validate the cost of goods sold as part of the month-end close

  • Revise the reserve for obsolete inventory as needed

  • Accumulate and apply overhead costs as required by GAAP

  • Work with management to locate and dispose of obsolete inventory

  • Report on breakeven points by product and work center

  • Report on margins by product

  • On a regular basis, provide reporting on variances and their causes, focusing in particular on spending variances

  • Analyze capital budgeting requirements

  • Perform cost accumulation tasks

  • Participate in training as needed

  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Skills and Desired Qualifications

 

  • BS/BA degree in Business, Accounting or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 5+ years of cost accounting experience

  • SAGE 100 experience a plus

  • Excellent analysis skills, and the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.

  • Strong system and data processing background

  • Strong understanding of GAAP

Cost Accountant

Customer Relations Specialist

Full Time

 

The Customer Service Specialist is responsible for general order management for a designated group of customers ensuring that their needs are met.  This role requires the ability to work successfully with internal and external groups in support of the customer requirements. 

 

Essential Job Functions

 

  • Extensive knowledge of all organization products as well as a strong capability to troubleshoot and solve a wide range of issues.

  • Provide accurate and timely service to customers

  • Review purchase orders, resolve any detailed issues/questions discrepancies, and enter into Order Management System.

  • Capture and enable follow through on any customer-specific requests as related to order execution.

  • Maintain frequent and high levels of relevant communication inside and outside the Customer Relations Team.

  • Customer Master Data Implementation, set-up and maintenance

  • Monitor the execution of orders and shipments until complete, maintain and share information as needed.

  • Maintain carrier relationships and quotations/contracts.

  • Negotiate with carriers for better rates.

  • Ensure transportation carriers are scheduled appropriately to meet customer shipping schedules

  • Provide sales and inventory reports as needed

  • Work closely with Accounts Receivable to resolve any invoicing issues

  • Provide responsive, professional service to customers and internal personnel.

  • Provide backup and assistance to Customer Relations Director and colleagues as needed.

  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements

 

  • Associates Degree or combined equivalent of education and experience

Customr Relations Specialist

Production worker

 

Full Time


Perform visual and functional inspection, trim excess flash, and packaging of finished product.

Essential Job Functions

 

  • Receive product from machine and preform visual and functional inspection of finished product

  • Trim and de-gate excess material from product

  • Attach latches and affix labels to finished goods

  • Request and/or acquire materials as needed

  • Stack and pack finished goods on pallets per work order

  • Maintain clean and safe work environment; follow GMP guidelines including proper use of PPE

  • Provide coverage for breaks in all areas of production

  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Requirements

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • Previous manufacturing/production experience preferred

Production Worker

Machine Technician

Full Time

 

Ensure assigned machines are operational and daily production needs are met for assigned shift.

 

Essential Job Functions

 

  • Start up and monitor injection molding machines for proper operation

  • Work closely with scheduled Group Leader and Production Leader on any machine issues

  • Work closely with Process Technicians on processing issues

  • Notify maintenance and Production Leader of any machines repair issues

  • Maintain production schedule to ensure customer requirements are met in a timely manner.

  • Maintain accurate inventory controls, review raw material needs on a daily basis to ensure production schedule is completed as required.

  • Ensure machine operators are maintaining production at levels adequate to meet daily production schedule through frequent observation and communication.

  • Communicate with Production Leader on a regular basis

  • Communicate with shift changeover Machine Technician to ensure smooth transition between shifts

  • Assist with the implementation of and abide by all F&M safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to:
    Lockout/Tagout
    Accident reporting
    Forklift Safety
    Housekeeping

 

Requirements

 

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in an injection molding environment

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Hands on processing experience

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Self-starter

  • Ability to communicate, read and write English, Spanish a plus

  • Able to work overtime as needed to cover off shifts

  • Work efficiently and maintain a composed demeanor in a fast-paced environment

Machinist/Mold Tech

Maintenance Mechanic

Full Time

 

Ensure proper operation of machinery and mechanical equipment to maintain production capacity and quality

 

Essential Job Functions

 

  • Troubleshoot, repair and maintain a variety of production and building equipment including hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and electrical systems

  • Assess problem to determine malfunction and work with other departments to resolve

  • Perform preventive maintenance; cleans and lubricates injection molding machines and equipment; measure parts to detect wear, misalignment or improper operation

  • Identify needed repairs, select repair procedure(s), order parts (if necessary and complete repair or replacement of worn/defective parts

  • Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair

  • Monitor, identify and respond promptly to signs of malfunction in machinery such as changes in performance, temperature fluctuations, sounds, smells or atypical energy usage; perform troubleshooting for production machinery.

  • Assist with the implementation of and abide by all F&M safety policies and procedures including, but not limited to:

    • Lockout/Tagout

    • Accident reporting

    • Forklift Safety

  • Participate in training as needed

  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Requirements

 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

  • 3-5 years of experience as a maintenance mechanic or similar role

  • Working knowledge of injection molding and automation

  • Forklift certification and Pallet Jack experience required

  • Proficient in carpentry, electrical and pneumatics

  • Prior experience working with robotics and PLCs a preferred

  • Basic knowledge of standard computer programs (Word, Excel, email, etc.)

  • Capable of reading and understanding various kinds of job related documentation, instruction manuals and standard operating procedures

  • Able to communicate, write and read English

Maintenance Mechanic

Process Engineer

Full Time

 

The Process Engineer will be responsible for the documentation and development of plastics manufacturing processes, equipment/tooling alternatives and flow of operations for the effective utilization of personnel, material, and machines necessary for the production of high-quality parts.

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Develop, implement, and optimize production methodologies in the manufacturing      operations.

  • Sustain products with cost reduction, cycle and yield improvements.

  • Work with appropriate personnel to compile and evaluate data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process or material specifications.

  • Analyze and optimize production processes while maximizing yield, capacity, and capability in cost effective means while driving to achieve world-class quality levels.

  • Develop and modify line layouts, including material flow, waste reduction, and ergonomics, utilizing Lean Manufacturing best practices.

  • Monitor and audit manufacturing processes to ensure product specifications and standards are achieved.

  • Create and maintain documented Manufacturing Instructions, routings, and associated processes.

  • Participate in the transition of a product from concept to pilot line production and into mass manufacturing.

  • Apply technical knowledge to innovate, design and develop processes, tooling, assembly fixtures and procedures.

  • Monitor and reduce process variation using Statistical Process Control.

  • Implement and support Lean manufacturing and 5S initiatives.

  • Analyze, develop, process, and implement Engineering Change Orders.

  • Responsible for continues process optimization

  • Lead and assist production in all process related topics and issues.

  • Support and assist maintenance team in troubleshooting difficult breakdowns and chronic equipment failures.

  • Set up and documentation of injection molding processes to achieve high quality parts.

 

Requirements

 

  • B.S. in Plastics Engineering or related field; or the combined equivalent of education and experience.

  • Minimally 5 years’ experience in an injection molding manufacturing environment preferred.

  • Must possess process engineering skills (process development/improvement, troubleshooting, data analysis, constraint analysis, flow optimization, root cause analysis, etc.)

  • Strong team working skills at all levels of an organization, especially skilled at working with direct labor to understand challenges and work on developing optimal solutions using structured methods.

  • Good understanding of BOMs, manufacturability, process design, process validation, assembly methods, design reviews and cost reduction methodologies.

  • Experience breaking down high-level (e.g. device level) performance issues into addressable action items.

  • Capable of identifying critical process parameters and applying statistics to process measurement and control.

  • Prior robotics and programming experience preferred.
