Duties and Responsibilities
Monitor operations with an eye toward improving productivity and efficiency.
Design efficient production processes and workflows.
Ensures that processes are designed to ensure that products meet quality standards.
Reduce waste and addresses production issues.
Review production schedules, processes, and specifications.
Evaluate data to implement technological improvements in production processes.
Implement controls to monitor costs and minimize production issues.
Identify potential locations and determines facility design.
Work with other departments to develop design and production standards.
Prepare inventory analysis and procurement purchase orders to address production needs.
Design facility layout and personnel requirements in relation to production operations.
Help to develop instruction manuals for production personnel
Ensure that work processes are safe and addresses safety issues and concerns.
Generate process documentation and reports.
Work with appropriate personnel to prepare client and customer proposals.
Position Requirements
Knowledge of production machinery, processes, and standards specifically in injection molding
Understanding of lean manufacturing and supply-chain management
Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Just In Time (JIT) strategizing
Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Data analytics skills and experience
Attention to detail
Understanding of ergonomics
Project management skills
Strong communication and presentation skills
Organizational, planning, and documentation skills
Adept at using presentation software and presenting complex information to non-technical management personnel and other stakeholders
Ability to work on multiple projects in various stages simultaneously
Experience using computer-aided design (CAD) platform
Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements
BS in industrial engineering or related field such as manufacturing or mechanical engineering, required or combined equivalent of education and experience
2-3 years relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment
Master’s degree in engineering a plus
